Houston leads Texas in Car Accidents for 2013
Each year, the Texas Department of Transportation releases the statistics for car accidents which occur throughout the state. In 2013 alone, Houston accounted for approximately 53,000 car accidents and about 89,000 in Harris County. This amount is far more than the next biggest city for car accidents, Dallas, at only about 20,000 in comparison. Houston alone accounts for about 15% of all car accidents in the entire state.
So what does this mean for you? Houston is renowned for aggressive drivers, who do not consider the safety of those around them when driving on the road. What makes things worse, Houston also leads the state in Drunk Driving accidents, which often result in a completely innocent driver or passenger ending up severely injured or dead. You should always remember to keep a look out for bad drivers on the road and assume that someone is out to hit you.
Also remember that in the unfortunate event that you are injured in a car accident, or hit by a drunk driver, that you should be compensated for your medical bills, lost wages, pain and suffering damages, and other damages you have incurred as a result of a careless or aggressive driver.
